Biography

Nadia trained at Hertfordshire Theatre School, UK, graduating with a 3 year advanced diploma in Acting and Musical Theatre. She furthered her vocal studies at Trinity College London, obtaining a Licentiate in Music Performance (Classical Singing) and Vocal Teaching with distinctions, mentored by renowned soprano Gillian Zammit. 

In 2019 she studied the Melofonetica Method with Dr Matteo Dalle Fratte in Veneto, Italy,  supported by Arts Council Malta.

Nadia forms part of The Abos Project, formerly known as The Monteverdi Project - a baroque consort, coached by Gillian Zammit.

 

Described by critics for The Times of Malta as a 'coloratura tour-de-force' (Albert George Storace) having a 'hauntingly beautiful' (Andre Delicata) and 'angelic voice’ (Pauline Fenech), her versatile credits have seen her walk the boards in Malta, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Austria and the UK.

She made her debut in the title role of Annie at the gorgeous Manoel Theatre in Malta at the age of 11 and this led her onto an exciting journey of coveted roles in opera, musical theatre, plays and film.

 Some of her versatile roles include Lisette (La Rondine), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), Christine (The Phantom of the Opera), Pastorello (Tosca), Wednesday (Addams Family), Abigail Williams (The Crucible) - nominated for Best Production 2018, Alice (Closer), Catherine (Memory of Water), Sherrie (Rock of Ages), Maria (Yerma), Milena (Once we were Mothers), Cecile (1565), Diva (Aħna RefuÄ¡jati), Countess (Don Juan on Trial), Ruth (Is it me?),  Agnes (Agnes of God),  Soloist (Handel's Messiah), Clara (Werther), Lydia(Pride and Prejudice),  featured soprano in Teatru Malta’s Min Hi? (Nominated for Best Production 2022),  Lupita (European Premiere of Innocent Flesh),  Actress in' L-Għanja ta' Malta' and a soloist in rock opera 'Ä ensna.'

Roles in operatic scenes include Cunegonde (Candide), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore). Roles in musicals in the UK include Angel (The Best little Whorehouse in Texas),  Maggie (Matchgirls),  Helene (Sweet Charity) at the Queen Mother Theatre, Hertfordshire. Lily St Regis (Annie) at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and Oliver in the TIE South Western tour of 'Oliver.'

Roles in musicals in Malta include Ruby (The Little Shop of Horrors), Royal Child (The King and I), Annie (The Ragged Child), Morgiana (Tin Pan Ali),  Boy Soprano (Cabaret) all at Teatru Manoel and Mary (Rock Nativity) at Spazzju Kreattiv.

She sings the popular classics Voi che Sapete and Rule Brittania while playing the role of Benedick Blythe’s opera singing lover in award-winning film 'Blood on the Crown’, directed by Davide Ferrario and starring cinema legends Harvey Keitel and Malcolm MacDowell, and the songstress ‘Karolina’ in Sharpshoot's popular Maltese tv series ‘CHALET.’

 

Roles in films also include UK Journalist in Hounds of War (Isaac Florentine) and Rescue Pilot in Not Without Hope (Joe Carnahan). She has appeared in tv adverts for Delicata Wine, 202 Jewellery and Carter's Supermarket.

Music video roles includes her own self penned pop song 'The Dark' and as an actress in Red Electrick's Young Again and Sterjotipi's Tabib. 

Nadia also features on the soundtrack of horror short ‘Gods Whisper’ singing a composition in Aramaic by Derek Dolan which won an award for best original score in the ROHTAK International short film festival. She also lent her voice to alternative Maltese band Brikkuni's album, Rub Al Khali and performed with metal band Decline the Fall as a warm up act to international metal stars, Lacuna Coil.

Nadia performed in The Valletta International Baroque Festival, Arte Lirica Festival Italy,  Harvest Festival Pécs, Hungary, Malta International Arts Festival, Notte Bianca, APS Summer Festival, Opera in the City, Hybrid Festival, Weinachtcircus Hamburg, Mużika Mużika, Malta EU Capital of Culture 2018 Closing Concert alongside The Tenors, Opera in the Pjazza, Opera in the City, Malta Opera Launch, The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas Concert 2021, Beyond the Barricade, It's Christmas with Beyond the Barricade, Gotta Sing Gotta Dance, Muso Merlot, Broadway Boulevard, A night at the musicals, Notte Italiana, Simply Queen, Comedy Tonight, Freddie for a Day, The Angel of Christmas Eve, Ghosts of Christmas Past, American Classical Crossover Magazine and Songbirds Livestreaming Online Concerts and as a soloist with The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, The Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra Hungary, Malta Concert Orchestra, Showbiz Pops Orchestra UK, Malta Youth Orchestra and The Palace String Orchestra.

 

As part of ‘The Abos Project’ by Festivals Malta in collaboration with Marco Mencoboni,  she recorded a Lamentazione written by Maltese-Italo composer Girolamo Abos, a work premiered in 2023 and was an active participant in masterclasses by Mark Dorrell, Dr. Andriana Yordanova, operatic legend Josè Cura, baroque expert Sandy Burnett, Hedwig Fassbender and Sumi Jo in Linz, Austria. 

 

​With music education at heart, Nadia tutors at Masquerade School for the Performing Arts and has also tutored at Vocalbooth Studios, Studio 18, KulleÄ¡Ä¡ San Ä orÄ¡ Preca, Hoi Polloi Academy and Chiswick House School in Malta and Theatretrain UK. 

She was also one of the music mentors in the Young Composers Programme in collaboration with AÄ¡enzija Zghazagħ and Arts Council Malta. 

​

In 2023 Nadia took on her best role to date - that of becoming a mother. 

​

In May 2025, she is set to play Cinderella in Manoel Theatre's upcoming musical 'Into the Woods' conducted by Ryan Paul Abela and directed by Lucienne Camilleri.
